How to make an paper octopus bookmark

Jumbo craft stick
Craft paper in different colors

Step 1

Trace the parts of the octopus on colored craft papers and cut them out. You can use any colors of your choice, choosing complementary colors, or choosing different shades of a single color, like we’ve done with purple here.

Step 2

Let’s start by assembling the head of our paper octopus bookmark! Stick the mantle at the base of the head. Stick the eyes in the middle of the head, and the spots on top. Take out your marker and draw a cute little smile.

Step 3

Moving on to what makes the octopus so mobile – its tentacles! Start by sticking the curved tentacles, leaving some space between them.

Step 4

Now stick the straight tentacles in these empty spaces – let them overlap over each other. Make sure to apply glue to the back of the mantle when sticking these tentacles.
